Carla Liguori was a high school public art teacher for over 26 years. She has been part of Fleisher faculty, since 2012 mainly teaching basic ceramics. Carla received her BA in art education from Douglass College and has studied at University of the Arts, The Clay Studio, and La Meridiana, Certaldo, Italy.
Carla has shown in local venues including The Plastic Club, Off the Wall Gallery at Dirty Frank’s, The Artist House Gallery, West Chester University, The Sketch Club, University of the Arts, Long Beach Island Arts and Science Foundation, and The Schuylkill Center.
Carla on her work: “My work generally gravitates towards animals and/or human forms when sculpting. They can be anthropomorphic at times. Each piece is about seeing life’s trevallies from different points of view. I mainly works in clay, but also incorporates needle felting and found objects into my sculptures.”
