Joan Oh is a Chicago native with a BFA in Photography at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, D.C. Subsequent to that, she attended the University of Pennsylvania and received her MFA in Interdisciplinary Studies.
Working across mediums such as photography, ceramics, and installation, her practice analyzes unspoken codes of behavior, turning to research, history, and the ordinary context of everyday occurrences to resurface artifacts of human experiences.
Oh’s work has been reviewed by publications such as The Washington Post, Washington City Paper, and Professional Artist Magazine. She has shown work in Washington, DC, New York City, Philadelphia, and Chicago and internationally in Belgium and Croatia.
