Pachanga de Los Muertos
Join us for a festive preview celebration of Día de los Muertos at Fleisher and learn more about the culture and traditions of Mexico in this special party planned by South Philadelphia community members. Guest artists will take you behind the scenes and share their creative process in constructing this year’s altar. Enjoy authentic food and sip margaritas as you dance to son jarocho music by guest bands. Complimentary childcare will be provided in our studios.
You’ll leave Pachanga de Los Muertos with a deeper understanding of Día de los Muertos and the inspiring work of La Calaca Flaca. Proceeds benefit Fleisher’s work to foster a diverse and just community, where creative self-expression and learning art is accessible to all.
Pachanga de Los Muertos is just one of many events planned by La Calaca Flaca for Día de los Muertos. In keeping with Fleisher’s mission to make art accessible, the majority of activities are offered free of charge, including the culminating community celebration on Sunday, October 28. This special fundraising party will help to ensure that Fleisher can support these opportunities this year and beyond. Tickets for this event will be available for purchase soon.
