The Frank and Betts Louchheim Professional Development Fund provides an annual award to a Fleisher Art Memorial faculty or staff member. The award supports a learning opportunity or specialized training that will help faculty and staff members increase their skills and knowledge in support of Fleisher’s mission to make art accessible to everyone, regardless of economic means, background, or artistic experience.
In recent years, the Fund has enabled staff to attend the Community Arts Education Leadership Institute, National Guild Conference for Community Arts Education, and Arts Advocacy Day. In addition, the Fund allowed faculty members to participate in a Lifetime Arts training on creative aging strategies for students ages 55+, and monthly skill share sessions for teaching artists who engage students in grades K-8 in Philadelphia public schools.
