Ceramics Open Studio

Open Studio provides access to self-directed students interested in Ceramics in a shared space. Participants must have technical proficiency, be capable of working independently, and adhere to the studio firing schedule. Note, that this is a monitored studio and not an instructed class. Participants must have a valid Fleisher membership and stop in at the front desk each day to sign-in.

Open studio Hours are subject to change depending on studio availability.

Spring term hours:
Monday to Thursday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Tuesday 6:30 p.m to 9:30 p.m.
Friday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

First time open studio users must register and attend an orientation in order to be eligible for open studio. Returning student are also encouraged to refresh their understanding of the studio space and studio equipment. There is no fee for the orientation.

Firing schedule

  • Bisque firing ends two weeks before the end of the term

  • Work must be finished and bisqued by week nine of the term in order to be fired by the end of the term

Required supplies:

  • Tuition includes a studio fee, which covers firing and glazes

  • You are responsible for purchasing your own clay at the front desk or Fleisher’s school store

  • Bring any tools or materials that you prefer to use
