Darkroom: Color Photography

In this workshop we will discover the disappearing art of Traditional Color Darkroom Photography! In this four week course, you will develop 35mm or medium format negatives, and print enlargements in a darkroom using color chemistry similar to that which is used at your local Mom & Pop Foto-Mat. Do you want that funky 70-80’s retro look in your 8×10 or 11×14 sized shots? Do you want a hands-on approach rather than pressing a button on your smartphone? This workshop is the perfect introduction to the world of color analog photography.

Please note that this studio is only accessible by stairs.

What you will learn in this workshop:

  • How to develop color negative film using different chemistry

  • How to enlarge, color correct, and print your own color photographs using traditional chemistry

Required supplies:

  • An exposed roll of color film (35MM, or 120MM), or any previously shot sets of negatives. You will be encouraged to shoot new rolls for this class as well.

  • All chemistry and paper for color developing is included in your studio fee.
