Drawing Organic Forms

Learn to draw organic forms of varying complexity as you explore the shapes, patterns and designs that occur throughout nature. While drawing subject matter such as plants, fruits, vegetables, bones, skulls (both human and animals) you will learn concepts of abstraction, magnification, composition and analytical drawing. The instructor will cover drawing techniques including abstraction, cross contour drawing, planar analysis and full value rendering of objects and textures.

What you will learn in this workshop:

  • A recognition of basic forms and patterns that exist in nature

  • A recognition of different concepts about form such as abstraction, cross contour drawing, light and shadow as well as well as texture

Required supplies for this workshop:

  • A bell pepper (the vegetable)

  • #2 or HB pencil

  • 18X24 Strathmore white drawing pad or equivalent

  • Kneaded Eraser

  • Sharpener
