Explorations in Digital Photography (four-session workshop)

This workshop builds upon existing photography skills to enable you to master your manual camera settings and composition skills. Topics include contemporary art photography, portraiture, long exposure, digital restoration, image enhancement, and much more. We will take photo walks around the city and the Fleisher campus.

Digital Photography Introduction, general computer skills and familiarity with Photoshop Elements® or CS3-5® are recommended.

Please note, this workshop does not meet on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 21.

What you will learn:

  • How to use manual settings on a digital camera

  • Knowledge of contemporary art photographers and how they work

  • Ability to critique the work of others and oneself

  • Intermediate Photoshop skills and printing

  • How to compose an image

  • When to use certain camera settings

  • Flash photography

Required supplies:

  • Camera with manual settings

  • USB drive

  • Your lab fee covers studio costs, and includes one print. Additional printing cards are available for purchase in the school store.
