First Steps to Drawing Continued

This course is a continuation of our popular First Steps to Drawing series. We will continue to explore basic drawing principles such as line quality, measuring negative space and proportions, gauging measurements using your pencil, picture plane and how to use a viewfinder while working from flat images, photographs, single objects and the still life.

Participants must have a valid Fleisher membership. Please note that our tuition-free classes for adults fill very quickly. Required supplies:

  • Drawing paper pad*

  • Kneaded eraser*

  • Mars Plastic or Pink Pearl eraser*

  • Pencil sharpener*

  • Graphite pencils, 1 each 2B and 4B*

  • A Soft charcoal pencil*

  • Compressed charcoal, soft (2 to 4 sticks)*

  • Vine charcoal (small pack of sticks)*

  • Ruler*

  • A supply kit for this class is available as an additional item at the time of registration for $31.00. Supply kits can be picked up at Fleisher’s school store on the first day of your class.
