Painting the Figure (five-session workshop)

We will begin by studying the figure in grisaille (black and white), then students will complete two two-session paintings. Emphasized topics include seeing tone, color mixing, human proportions, and focusing on planes to maintain a sense of volume in your painting. We will also discuss the chemistry of oils and traditional oils techniques. Enjoy demonstrations and plenty of individual instruction. Drawing experience required, painting experience encouraged.
