You will explore a range of three-dimensional working methods starting with simple studies of organic and geometric forms, culminating in basic figure and animal shapes. Each piece will be sculpted in clay and fired at the end of the semester. No prior experience necessary.
Participants must have a valid Fleisher membership. Please note that our tuition-free classes for adults fill very quickly. How to prepare pieces for firing
How to finish sculptures with a variety of patinas
Increased knowledge of animal and human anatomy and relief sculpture
Required supplies for this class:
The studio fee covers the cost of your first bag of clay, special tools, and firing fees
A board to sculpt on
Modeling tools (basic ceramic tool kit available in school store)
Notebook and/or sketchbook
Additional clay, as needed
