Originally from southern New Jersey, Marsiella Catanoso has always been passionate about the arts, especially working with clay! She graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2011, receiving her BFA in Ceramics with a minor in Art History. In 2012, she participated in a short summer residency program as an assistant at Watersheld Center for the Ceramics Arts in Maine. Later that fall she headed down south and enrolled at Clemson University as a post-baccalaureate student, furthering her education within the ceramics field. During fall of 2012, she was lucky enough to participate in a work exchange program at the Arrowmont School of Craft in Gatlinburg, TN. Then, following a two-year apprenticeship with potters Donna Polseno and Richard Hensley in Virginia, she received the opportunity to travel to Italy and attend La Meridiana as a studio assistant. In the summer of 2015, she moved to Philadelphia, where she continues to be a ceramic artist making functional and decorative pottery.
