SUMMARY:jumpstART: One of a Kind Screenprint
DESCRIPTION:Explore and experiment with the immediacy of this one of a kind screenprinting technique. Printed images will be made using Caran D’Ache water-soluble crayons and soft graphite to create layers of drawings and textures. Explore the many different effects possible achieved with simple\, freeing and direct techniques. You do not need to have a plan for an image\, as it is possible to experiment with the materials and our extensive collection of textures that we use for rubbings directly on the screen. Of course\, if you have some ideas in mind please bring in sketches or images to use for source material. \nAll supplies are included with enrollment.

SUMMARY:Jewelry Workshop: Etched Earrings
DESCRIPTION:Draw on metal and create unique earrings in this one-time workshop well suited for beginners and advanced students alike. Students will take a design of their own and using a non-toxic saltwater etching technique\, etch the design into the surface of sheet metal. After etching\, students will solder earring posts to the backs of their designs. Using a patina\, students will then darken the metal and sand back the highpoints to make their design pop. Students will create a finished set of earrings they can take home at the end of the workshop. This workshop could be a good fit for those interested in 2D artmaking and want an introduction into a handful of basic metalsmithing processes. \nAccessibility Note: This studio has partial stair access. SUMMARY:Jewelry Workshop: Etched Earrings
DESCRIPTION:Draw on metal and create unique earrings in this one-time workshop well suited for beginners and advanced students alike. Students will take a design of their own and using a non-toxic saltwater etching technique\, etch the design into the surface of sheet metal. After etching\, students will solder earring posts to the backs of their designs. Using a patina\, students will then darken the metal and sand back the highpoints to make their design pop. Students will create a finished set of earrings they can take home at the end of the workshop. This workshop could be a good fit for those interested in 2D artmaking and want an introduction into a handful of basic metalsmithing processes. \n\nAccessibility Note: This studio has partial stair access. SUMMARY:jumpstART: One of a Kind Screenprint
DESCRIPTION:Explore and experiment with the immediacy of this one of a kind screenprinting technique. Printed images will be made using Caran D’Ache water-soluble crayons and soft graphite to create layers of drawings and textures. Explore the many different effects possible achieved with simple\, freeing and direct techniques. You do not need to have a plan for an image\, as it is possible to experiment with the materials and our extensive collection of textures that we use for rubbings directly on the screen. Of course\, if you have some ideas in mind please bring in sketches or images to use for source material. \nAll supplies are included with enrollment.
