Key Teen Lounge Program Dates

Fall Workshops Kick Off Tuesday, September 8

Teen Lounge is an after-school art program, running Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 to 6 pm during the school year. Teen Lounge is a free, drop-in program with no attendance requirement so teens can attend however works best with their schedule.

Fall Schedule

September

Artist Workshop: Blue Memory: Exploring Cyanotypes with Samiha Hadeed
Wednesdays: September 9, 16, 23 & 30

Experiment with one of photography’s earliest processes as you create luminous cyanotype prints using light, natural materials, and found objects. Through hands-on exploration, participants will discover the expressive possibilities of this historic medium.

Free Studio Days (Tuesdays): September 8, 15, 22 & 29
Participants are invited to return to the studio for self-directed work time, allowing them to continue projects, experiment with new ideas, and deepen techniques introduced during the workshop.

 

October

Artist Workshop: Papermaking: Fiber to Foundation to Freeform with Teagan Annesly
Wednesdays: October 7, 14, 21 & 28

Explore the art of handmade paper from pulp to finished sheet while experimenting with texture, inclusions, and sculptural forms. Participants will learn foundational papermaking techniques and discover creative possibilities for working with paper as an artistic medium.

Free Studio Days (Tuesdays): October 6, 13, 20 & 27
Participants are invited to return to the studio for self-directed work time, allowing them to continue projects, experiment with new ideas, and deepen techniques introduced during the workshop.

 

November-December

Artist Workshop: Books that Move with Hannah Moog
Tuesdays: November 10, 17, 24 & December 1

Discover inventive approaches to bookmaking by creating interactive and sculptural books that unfold, expand, and transform. Participants will explore structure, movement, and storytelling through a variety of contemporary book arts techniques.

Free Studio Days (Wednesdays): November 4, 18, 25 & December 2
Participants are invited to return to the studio for self-directed work time, allowing them to continue projects, experiment with new ideas, and deepen techniques introduced during the workshop.

Program Information

  • Teen Lounge runs Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 4 to 6 pm when Philadelphia schools are in session. We meet at Fleisher Art Memorial at 719 Catharine St, and provide snacks and bus passes.
