Common Space: Daniel de Jesús – The Ghost of Loralie Sharon

Please join us as Fleisher’s Common Space Initiative welcomes painter, composer, and songwriter Daniel de Jesús for a performance of new works from his contemporary operetta, The Ghost of Loralie Sharon. In de Jesús’ piece Loralie Sharon, a great American singer, passes into the ether of purgatory. She haunts her childhood home, but in time discovers a way to return to the land of the living. This event is presented in conjunction with AfroTaíno Productions and the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival.

Fleisher’s new Common Space initiative gives local organizations and artist collectives ‘the keys’ to Fleisher’s historic Sanctuary to present culturally diverse, community-driven projects. Designed to support Philadelphia-area performance artists by providing access to a unique venue and to help cultivate new audiences for their work, Common Space embodies our founder’s vision of the Sanctuary as a public space devoted to the appreciation and pursuit of art. All programs in this series are free and open to the public.
