SUMMARY:Fleisher From a Distance: Drawing a Portrait Demonstration
DESCRIPTION:Experience teaching artist Paul DuSold’s exciting approach to drawing a portrait. By working from a photograph\, Paul will walk us through the entire process of achieving a likeness. Each step of the process will be explained. Methods for achieving light and shadow and the illusions of texture such as skin and hair will also be discussed. Draw along with the demonstration or simply sit back and enjoy. \nPaul describes his work as “atmospheric representationalism\,” with still life\, portraiture\, and figures in landscape being his primary interests. His paintings have been exhibited at Gross McCleaf Gallery (Philadelphia)\, Carspecken Scott Gallery (Wilmington)\, Vose Galleries (Boston)\, The Woodmere Art Museum\, and The Wayne Art Center\, among other locations. His commissioned portraits hang in the collections of The Union League of Philadelphia\, Temple University Medical School\, Mellon Bank\, Pennsylvania Hospital\, Thomas Jefferson University\, and many others. \nThis demonstration is open to the public with a suggested donation of $10 but is limited to maximum number of 100 participants. Advanced registration is required. The tour will be hosted through Zoom\, which can be accessed on desktop and laptop computers\, as well as mobile devices. We highly recommend downloading the Zoom app to your device in advance. You will receive a URL to join the demonstration after you complete the registration process.
