Fleisher From a Distance: Drawing with Pastels

Explore the rich medium of pastel drawing with artist and Fleisher faculty Katie Knoeringer. We’ll discuss the specific attributes of pastels and best practices for working with the medium. We’ll also go over a variety of techniques, like blending and cross hatching, while Katie demonstrates drawing an organic form with pastels.

Katie Knoeringer’s work has been exhibited in numerous states including Massachusetts, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey and has been featured in the book 500 Paper Objects. She has been an artist in residence at Brush Creek in Wyoming, ArtHub in Arizona, and Art On the Farm in Pennsylvania.

She received her MFA from Louisiana State University and her BFA from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. She is currently an adjunct instructor at Drexel University. She lives and works in Philadelphia.

This demonstration is open to the public with a suggested donation of $10 but is limited to maximum number of 100 participants. Advanced registration is required.
