SUMMARY:Fleisher From a Distance: Felting Demonstration
DESCRIPTION:Join in on this webinar to explore a variety of ways to turn wool into felt for sculpture and wearable items. Hanna will demonstrate needle felting for small-scale sculpture and wet felting for flat and three-dimensional hollow pieces. She’ll also show how to incorporate found objects like beads\, fabric\, and yarn. Have fun learning how loose fibers get turned into solid objects with this hands-on technique! \nHanna Vogel is an artist\, writer\, and teacher living and working in Philadelphia. Born and raised in rural northern California\, she received an MFA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a BFA from the California College of the Arts. She has shown her work nationally and internationally\, and has presented at conferences and published papers internationally. Her work has been published in Polonium 3 from SprocketBox Publishing\, Fiber Art Now Magazine\, and Woven Tale Press. She has received fellowships/grants from Yaddo\, Anderson Ranch\, Haystack\, Penland\, the California College of the Arts\, and the Fiber Art Network\, and will be a resident artist at Sculpture Space and at Furman University in 2018. \nThis demonstration is open to the public with a suggested donation of $10 but is limited to maximum number of 100 participants. Advanced registration is required. The tour will be hosted through Zoom\, which can be accessed on desktop and laptop computers\, as well as mobile devices. We highly recommend downloading the Zoom app to your device in advance. You will receive a URL to join the demonstration after you complete the registration process.
