SUMMARY:Fleisher From a Distance: Screenprint on Fabric
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to screenprint on fabrics at home with Miriam Singer! Participants will be introduced to the steps in the screenprint process for printing on fabric using stencil-based screenprinting techniques. Topics covered will include mixing inks\, printing set up\, choosing the right screens\, creating stencils\, printing\, and instructions for clean up at home. \nMiriam Singer received her BA in sociology and studio art from Brandeis University in 2000\, and her MFA in painting with a concentration in printmaking from Massachusetts College of Art in 2003. Since moving to Philadelphia in 2004 she has exhibited at LG Tripp Gallery\, Friends of the Print and Picture Collection\, Art in the Airport\, James Oliver Gallery\, Gallery Siano\, Inliquid at Painted Bride\, Art in City Hall\, Topstitch\, Spector Gallery\, Gallery at Minnow\, and Padlock Gallery. Miriam uses a combination of printmaking and drawing media to create her unique works on paper and designs for public art projects. Noted public art projects with The Philadelphia Mural Arts Program include: Southeast by Southeast\, 2013\, Under The Clothespin\, 2012\, and Take Me to the River\, 2010. Miriam’s accumulated imagery becomes layered and busy with impressions of the cityscape. She is a current member of Space 1026. \nThis event is open to the public with a suggested donation of $10 but is limited to a maximum number of 100 participants. Advanced registration is required. The event will be hosted through Zoom\, which can be accessed on desktop and laptop computers\, as well as mobile devices. We highly recommend downloading the Zoom app to your device in advance. You will receive a URL to join the event after you complete the registration process.
