Fleisher From a Distance: Secret Geometry of Painting

Cezanne, Piero della Francesca, Degas… Discover the hidden rules and variables found within some of the world’s most famous paintings. We don’t usually notice, but everything in a painting is on purpose. Painting greats, like Picasso, Balthus, and many more all strived for dynamic ordered compositions to lead the viewer’s eye through the works. We will look for visual patterns, similar shapes, and overall pictorial ideas that make a painting work and stand apart from the rest.
