SUMMARY:Fleisher From a Distance: Wind Challenge Edition with Kevin Huang
DESCRIPTION:While Fleisher’s exhibitions are on pause\, join us online on Mondays for compelling conversations with past and present Wind Challenge artists. Established in 1978\, the Wind Challenge Exhibition Series has enriched the lives of countless visitors and introduced audiences to contemporary art created by the region’s emerging artists. The Wind Challenge Exhibition Series is made possible thanks to generous support from the Dina Wind Art Foundation and Fleisher members. \nKevin is a Philadelphia-based artist. In addition to the Fleisher’s Wind Challenge Exhibition Series\, he was awarded a Brooklyn Arts Council grant. His work is included in corporate and individual collections internationally. He earned a bachelor of architecture and a master of science in community and regional planning from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. He continues to learn new making techniques and tools at NextFab\, where he has incorporated woodworking\, metalworking\, and digital technology into his one-of-a-kind artwork. He credits his apprenticeship to Ernest Porcelli Art Glass for developing his skills as a glassmaker and values his work as an assistant on sculptural projects by Mark Ferguson\, Jim Dine\, Holly Morse\, and Tom Miles. \nArtist website:\nkevinbhuang.com \nThis event is open to the public with a suggested donation of $10 but is limited to a maximum number of 100 participants. Advanced registration is required. The event will be hosted through Zoom\, which can be accessed on desktop and laptop computers\, as well as mobile devices. We highly recommend downloading the Zoom app to your device in advance. You will receive a URL to join the event after you complete the registration process.
