SUMMARY:Pop Arts: Virtual Postcards in a Virtual World (grades 6-8)
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, we’ll make super cool digital postcards on Canva. (Canva is available on any web browser and also in a free app\, though the phone app is a little bit trickier to use.) We’ll start by taking a look at the mail art movement and the evolution of modern communication from the postal service to digital technology. Then the instructor will demonstrate the functionality of Canva and all its available free tools that are available. We’ll then design and create digital postcards and send them to our friends to let them know “I’m thinking of you – here’s some art!” \nInstructor: Zilla Elcin \nRequired supplies:\nComputer with a web browser or phone with free app Canva \nPop Arts are Fleisher’s new online Saturday workshops\, featuring fun and engaging art-making experiences for young artists in grades K-12. Carefully designed by our talented teaching artists\, each Pop Arts workshop runs for 90 minutes. Young artists and their families are encouraged to sign up for as many workshops as they want! Each workshop is offered with a suggested donation of $10-$15. Advanced registration is required and space is limited. Pop Arts will be hosted on Zoom\, and you will receive a link to join once you complete your registration.
