SUMMARY:Social Activism Through Art: Gracie Mansion and Exhibition Tour
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a tour of Gracie Mansion\, the mayor of New York’s official residence\, and its current exhibition\, Catalyst: Art and Social Justice. The mansion was built in 1799 and enjoys a rich history. The curated exhibition\, which embodies the mission of Fleisher’s Social Activism Through Art series\, features work by New York artists and activists since 1960 and celebrates the power of art to spark change and spur progress. \n“This major exhibition is diverse\, inclusive and simply one of the best art shows currently in New York City\,” says Gerard Silva\, Fleisher’s exhibitions and special projects manager. \nThe one-hour tour will start with a brief introduction of the home and a room-by-room exploration of the collection. A docent from the Gracie Mansion Conservancy will welcome your questions and comments during and after the tour. \nThis event is open to the public with a suggested donation of $10 but is limited to a maximum number of 100 participants. Advanced registration is required. The event will be hosted through Zoom\, which can be accessed on desktop and laptop computers\, as well as mobile devices. We highly recommend downloading the Zoom app to your device in advance. You will receive a URL to join the event after you complete the registration process.
