Basic Drawing (online)
This online class will teach you how to observe and draw objects from life in a realistic style, a fundamental skill for working in any media including painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Drawing is one of the oldest and most universal ways of making art. It’s the most simplified of the art forms and in many ways the most pure. Whether you’re sketching a doodle or drawing a large and detailed work, drawing is a way to explore the world around you and also yourself. Drawing requires relatively few materials to get started, but there’s a lot of great drawing media out there to explore.
This is an online class hosted through Zoom. We recommend that you download the free Zoom application on your computer, phone, or tablet in advance of the first class. You will receive a confirmation email containing a link to join the course via Zoom. The same link will be used each week.
