Darkroom: Color Photography
In this workshop, you will develop 35mm or medium format negatives, and print enlargements in a darkroom using similar color chemistry to the ones used in your local Mom & Pop Foto-Mat. Do you want that funky 70-80’s retro look in your 8×10 or 11×14 sized shots? Do you want a hands-on approach rather than pressing a button on your smartphone? You will master all of this in one term.
Pictured work by Corin Bellomia, Amanda Durham, Dominique Ellis, Emad Hasan, Amanda Jensen, Estefania Orozco, and Sarah Hill.
What you will learn:
How to develop color negative film using different chemistry
How to enlarge, color correct, and print your own color photographs using traditional chemistry
An exposed roll of color film (35MM, or 120MM), or any previously shot sets of negatives. You will be encouraged to shoot new rolls for this class as well.
All chemistry for color developing and paper is included in your studio fee.
