Discovery Tour: Fabric Workshop & Museum

Join us for a special tour of the Fabric Workshop and Museum. We’ll visit behind the scenes to see the fabric printing studio and look at a group of Artist Boxes created by visiting artists-in-residence at the museum. During their residencies, the artists explore unfamiliar materials, test ideas and ultimately create new works of art. Each leaves behind materials—research, handwritten notes, samples, sketches and prototypes—documenting their process and tracing the evolution of their artwork from concept to completion. We’ll see work from Denise Scott Brown, Faith Ringgold, Lenore Tawney, Mark Dion, Ann Hamilton, Mark Bradford, Red Grooms, and others.

Special Notes:

This is an in-person, off-site course. We’ll meet in the lobby at Fabric Workshop and Museum, 1214 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

Please review Fabric Workshop and Museum’s Visitor Health and Safety Policies before arriving.
