Drawing Fundamentals
The fun and creative online class will focus on motivating students to develop a modern, creative drawing process that will include the exploration of drawing materials, still life compositions and the utilization of photograph as a subject. You will also deepen your understanding of the main components of the drawing technique such as line, form, perspective, value, volume, 3D effects, color and composition in an enjoyable and exciting new way.

This is an online class hosted through Zoom. We recommend that you download the free Zoom application on your computer, phone, or tablet in advance of the first class. You will receive a confirmation email containing a link to join the course via Zoom. The same link will be used each week.

Required supplies:
Strathmore Drawing Pad 14×17
Medium Surface Strathmore 500 Charcoal 9×12, assorted tints
Drawing pencils HB, 2B, 4B, 8B
Kneaded eraser
Staedtler eraser
Q-tips
2” brush or similar size
Small plastic container for trash
Ruler
Mechanic pencil (7mm)
Prismacolor color pencils (box of 24)
General’s charcoal pencils box of four: soft, medium, hard + White
Strathmore tracing paper pad, 9″ x 12″
Black Sharpie, ultra fine point
A printer is required for this class (students will be asked to make photocopies of templates and preparatory drawing schemes sent every week by the instructor)
