Drawing Natural History at Philadelphia Museums (five-session workshop)

Explore Philadelphia’s natural history museums and learn the intricacies of drawing organic forms of varying complexity. We will sketch from a rich variety of specimens at the Wagner Free Institute, The Mutter Museum, and the Academy of Natural Sciences. Drawing from plant, animal and human specimens, you will learn concepts of composition, abstraction, texture, proportion, and light. Back in the studio at Fleisher, we will complete the drawing with watercolor techniques, adding color into your sketches.

Entry fees to museums are included in the price of this class. The class will meet at Fleisher and at three different museums on the following days:
May 8 – Fleisher
May 15 – Wagner Free Institute
May 22 – Fleisher
May 29 – Academy of Natural Sciences
June 5 – Mutter Museum
