Fiber Art: Inspired by Dance

In partnership with the Philadelphia Ballet this workshop will explore the intersection of fiber arts and dance. Internationally renowned costume designer Holly Hynes will introduce us to her design process featuring her reactions to textiles and their narrative qualities. Fleisher teaching artist and fiber artist, Dianne Koppisch Hricko, will lead this workshop. Students will create 2 unique six foot textiles using fiber reactive dyes. Our finished textiles will be sent to the Philadelphia Ballet dancers to explore and interact with. These explorations will be professionally photographed to create a public display at the Cherry Street Pier in May of 2022.
