Figure Drawing (Thursday)

Learn the fundamentals of figure drawing through exploring the body’s structure, proportion, and gesture. Discussion of basic anatomical structures combined exercises drawing from photographs and master copies will round out this highly energetic course.

  • Fitting the whole figure on the page

  • Comfort with the drawing medium at hand

  • A basic grasp of proportions and knowledge of bodily landmarks

Required Supplies (Bring on the First Day of Class):

  • A sketchbook

  • 18×24 inch newsprint paper

  • Charcoal

  • Kneaded eraser

  • You are free to use any drawing materials you choose. The supply list is composed of suggested materials that reflect the instructor’s demonstrated techniques.
