Get Creative with Paper (6th-8th grade)

Let’s experiment with basic household supplies to make art! We’ll use kitchen spices for color, make collages with wheat paste, and learn some basic bookbinding. Please get creative and use what you have around the house.

This is an online class hosted through Zoom. We recommend that you download the free Zoom application on your computer, phone, or tablet in advance of the first class. You will receive a link to join the Zoom meeting via email once registration is complete. Please use the same link each week.

Required supplies:

  • Drawing paper

  • Kitchen supplies (use what you have at home): salt, white vinegar (quart), flour (roughly 1 cup), spices like paprika, turmeric, coffee, tea bags, etc.

  • Reused food packaging: save glass jars, some thicker and some thinner cardboard boxes (think Amazon boxes and cracker boxes)

  • Old paper to repurpose (ex. newspaper, magazines, old papers that you’re okay with tearing up)

  • Needle and thread

  • Nail or pushpin
