Introduction to Drawing
This class is recommended for anyone coming to Fleisher with no previous instruction or experience.
You will learn step-by-step instructions on how to begin a drawing. You will learn about sighting techniques, negative space, visual measurements and the use of guidelines. We will start by drawing simple geometric shapes. In each class you will build on your skills and by drawing from life and copying, both single objects and a still life with multiple objects, you will learn to see in a whole new way. We will work primarily in pencil and a little in charcoal.
Concepts covered include composition, design, tone, line, and perspective.
This is an in-person class which will take place in our building with strict social distancing protocols and reduced student capacity. Please see our COVID-19 community safety policies.
