Memoir Writing (six-session workshop)

The writer must be a master of memory. This course aims to pull forward your recurrent anecdotes, obsessions and imaginings. Using exercises, spontaneous writings, and published examples, we will consider those matters of craft (including diction, dialogue, and tone) that will best serve— animate– the work. Experiment with hybrid structures that may include essays and poems. Participants are asked to bring for discussion one or two favorite memoirs as potential role models.
