Modern Tintypes (four-session workshop)

In this workshop, students will be introduced to the beauty and history of tintype and the generosity of ease afforded the process by modern times. In this workshop, students will be provided with the tools, the time, and the guided instruction needed to create their own unique tintype prints. Approaches to image making will include both analog and digital with the use of both the 4×5 camera and digital negatives in the B&W photography darkroom. Students will engage in both darkroom and digital lab work. No prior experience in tintype is required.
