Underdogs of Painting (grades 9-12)

Each week, we will explore the work of a particular artist that came late to fame. These artists are talented, committed, and often under the radar. Looking at the work of outsider artists, we will recreate their style in our own way. Students can work with watercolor, acrylic, collage, or any medium that moves them. Each class will include supportive group critique and sharing time, and we have the opportunity for our work – particularly our Barkley Hendricks-inspired portraits – to be shown at Cherry Street Pier in July!

Instructor: Bridget O’Rourke
