Explore the process of creating a portrait with expressive and versatile water-based mediums. In this online class, you will be working from photographs, live models, and masters’ works, and you will have plenty of time for practicing and experimenting with your own painting technique. Learn the anatomy of the skull, the proportions of a portrait as it relates to the face, torso, and hands, and how they relate to capturing lifelike portraits of the models. The instructor will provide plenty of demonstrations, individual feedback, and lead group discussions around each student’s work in progress.
This is an online class hosted through Zoom. We recommend that you download the free Zoom application on your computer, phone, or tablet in advance of the first class. Within 48 hours of registration, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to join the course via Zoom. The same link will be used each week.
