The Fleisher Challenge was founded in 1978 as a platform for local artists to exhibit. This effort was later generously supported by Dina and Jerry Wind through the Wind Foundation bringing the Wind Challenge to the forefront of exhibitions in Philadelphia. Now this important exhibition is supported by the Dina Wind Art Foundation and we invite you to find out more by visiting dinawindfoundation.art.

Since its inception, the series has introduced regional contemporary art from over three hundred artists to a broad audience and has helped emerging artists advance their professional careers. This is one of the most prestigious exhibitions in our area and every year six to nine artists are selected to exhibit in our galleries. With the assistance of Fleisher staff and with the stipend provided, artists are encouraged to curate and install their own exhibitions, giving them yet another perspective and experience in professional development. In addition, we offer a public program called the Wind Challenge Artist Exchange, a conversation with the artists in which they lead by asking each other questions and sharing insights into their creative process.
