Artist Statement:

My work combines sculptural and traditional fiber processes to create detailed installations, objects, and weavings. Satire and humor are often used to address perceptions of queerness through the scope of media and religion. Recently I’ve been exploring the intersection of dreams and memory – how our subconscious unpacks and impacts our identities. Real lived experiences are recontextualized against performative materials like sequins, tulle, ribbons, faux fur and yarn to convey the absurdity of a dream. Harnessing the power of nostalgia with tweenhood imagery and objects, I envelope the viewer in a world of fantasy and desire remembered from years past and question how it parallels reality.
