Peri Law

Peri Law is originally from the suburbs of Charlotte, North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in studio art and art history. She currently works as the Youth Programs Coordinator for Asian Americans United, in addition to be in a freelance teaching artist and board member of the Soapbox Community Printmaking Studio in Philadelphia, PA

Her experience growing up was marked by regular trips to Durham, North Carolina to visit her Chinese grandmother, filled with traditional Chinese rituals and food, and bi-yearly trips to the English countryside to visit her English grandparents.

Her art history focus is on contemporary Asian diasporic art. She is interested in the intersections of refugee and immigrant narratives, retaining cultural identity, and contemporary art practices. She is also interested in the decolonization of art museums, with a focus on the naming and placements of objects, and in improving museum accessibility.
