Fleisher From a Distance: A Painting in One Session with Giovanni Casadei
Please join us for another installment of Fleisher From a Distance, our series of online learning and community building programs. Discover the energy of alla prima painting, a traditional technique of finishing a painting in one sitting with Fleisher teaching artist Giovanni Casadei. In this demonstration, learn how this painting method can help develop concentration and improve decision making while exploring the fundamentals of color, composition, and paint application. You will be able to ask Giovanni questions and follow along if you have paints and a canvas at home.
Giovanni is an Italian born-artist who resides in Philadelphia. He studied at the Scuola Libera del Nudo (Free School for Drawing and Painting sponsored by the Academy of Fine Art of Rome), and at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Giovanni teaches painting at various art centers in the Philadelphia area and is represented by the Gross McCleaf Gallery. Giovanni says of his painting, “My approach to painting is to communicate to the viewer my love for life and human beings, through the expression of my feelings, emotions, and passions that are inspired by the visual world around me.”
This demonstration is open to the public with a suggested donation of $10 but is limited to maximum number of 100 participants. Advanced registration is required. The tour will be hosted through Zoom, which can be accessed on desktop and laptop computers, as well as mobile devices. We highly recommend downloading the Zoom app to your device in advance. You will receive a URL to join the demonstration after you complete the registration process.
