Fleisher’s low-cost classes and workshops provide instruction and ways to experiment in numerous mediums. Tuition assistance is available.
In 1898, Fleisher’s founder, Samuel S. Fleisher, first extended the invitation for “the world to come and learn art.” Fleisher’s singular vision of high-quality, low-cost and tuition-free art instruction continues uninterrupted at Fleisher Art Memorial. At Fleisher, artists of all backgrounds share in the commonality of the creative experience while studying with a distinguished faculty of working artists in the visual arts.

Open studios for intermediate and advanced students are an opportunity to use the Fleisher facilities to help expand your body of artwork, without the cost of renting your own studio.
For students taking courses in a specific medium, there is also a drop-in option for those interested in taking advantage of open studio hours to work on their projects. The drop-in fee for students is $10; check in with the front desk for details.
Led by our renowned teaching artists, these inexpensive, single session workshops provide an introduction to our rich offerings. All materials are included in the tuition price.
Special Events feature one-day or shorter-term offerings related to special topics or seasonal celebrations.
Tours provide access to hidden treasures in some of Philadelphia’s special collections. Behind-the-scenes tours of Philadelphia institutions offer viewings of works not normally available to the public.

Tuition And Fees
Unless you are applying for tuition assistance or enrolling in a payment plan, payment of all tuition and fees associated with a class are due in full at the time of registration. To find out the cost of a particular class, check out our course listings. Fleisher is proud to offer transparent pricing structures. Some of the costs associated with our programs and their uses include:
Varies depending on the length of the class and covers the salary of the instructor and administrative costs.
Vary depending on the class medium, and are used to cover demonstration materials, shared supplies, tools, equipment, and infrastructure costs.

Several of Fleisher’s core classes are offered as tuition-free offerings. While these courses are tuition-free, there may be studio or model fees associated with them. In order to participate in a tuition-free class, students must adhere to the following policies:
Be a current Fleisher member.
Attend the first two classes of each session. If you cannot attend either the first or second class, please contact Fleisher’s registrar at email@example.com in advance of the start of the term to hold your spot.
Registrations for tuition-free classes are limited to two per student per term. Free classes are designed to be introductory and should not be taken more than twice in succession.
Fleisher reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment or instructor availability. In the event that Fleisher cancels a class or workshop, registrants will receive full refunds for all related fees paid. Classes missed by individual students are not eligible for reimbursement. Fleisher cannot prorate courses for late registration, withdrawals or missed classes.
In the case that Fleisher must close due to inclement weather or emergency, an update will be posted on our website, and we will make every effort to inform affected students in a timely manner.
