Four Films from Kelly Reichardt: First Cow

Acclaimed film director Kelly Reichardt was described by the New Yorker in 2023 as “this country’s finest observer of ordinary grit.” Over three decades she has created an uncompromised body of work, exploring a wide range of ideas while focusing on the lives of working people. We’ll discuss the themes and stylistic choices revealed in her films, how her films fit in and differ from the modern film landscape as well as hearing class reaction in post-screening discussion.
