Fleisher From a Distance: Drawing Anatomy Lecture and Demonstration

Are you interested in an overview of human anatomy and drawing structure? Join artist and educator Al Gury for this lecture and demonstration of human anatomy as he provides strategies for effective drawing. You will learn concepts for organizing and completing drawings of the life model and get an overview of the history of life drawing.

Al Gury is the chair of the painting department of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, awarded the National Medal of Arts for Distinguished Service to the Arts in America, the only art school to be so honored. He received his BA in fine arts and humanities from Saint Louis University, a certificate of art from PAFA, and an MFA from the University of Delaware. He is a recipient of PAFA’s Cresson Traveling Fellowship. He is represented by F.A.N. Gallery in Philadelphia.

Al writes for American Artists and has published two books: Alla Prima: A Contemporary Guide to Traditional Direct Painting and Color for Painters: a Guide to Traditions and Practice. He has a forthcoming book on drawing.
