Hear from Natessa Amin, this year’s juror for the Annual Adult Student Exhibition.

For 126 years, the Annual Adult Student Exhibition has celebrated the vibrant artwork created by Fleisher’s students. The exhibition provides students with the opportunity to show their work in a public gallery. Cash prizes are awarded to students in a wide spectrum of mediums including fiber arts, drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, and photography.

This year, Natessa Amin, a Pennsylvania native and Philadelphia-based painter, sculptor, and installation artist served as the juror for the Annual Adult Student Exhibition.

A note from our juror:

It was a true privilege to serve as a juror for the Student Art Show at Fleisher Art Memorial. The exhibition is a vibrant celebration of creativity, showcasing work that radiates energy, insight, and profound personal investment. From playful, witty pieces to raw, intimate narratives, the show stands as a testament to the dedication and courage of the artists. The exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail reflect not only technical skill but also the thoughtfulness and care poured into each piece. This exhibition is a wonderful reflection of artistic growth and the transformative mentorship that has guided this group of artists, making it a truly inspiring experience to witness. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Natessa’s Bio:

Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, with notable solo projects at CUE Art Foundation, The Berman Museum of Art, and Fleisher Art Memorial. Amin’s work has also been included in group exhibitions at venues such as Tiger Strikes Asteroid (Los Angeles), OyG Projects and Trestle Gallery (Brooklyn), Hangar H18 Gallery (Brussels), Benaco Arte (Italy), The American University Museum, and several Philadelphia locations, including PAFA, Commonweal Gallery, Pilot Projects, TSA, and CFEVA. Amin has participated in prominent art fairs like Abu Dhabi Art and India Art Fair, represented by Galerie Isa (Mumbai). Her achievements include residencies at The Fabric Workshop and Museum, Wassaic Project, Lacawac Sanctuary & Biological Field Station, and the Golden Foundation for the Arts. She holds a BFA in Painting from Boston University and an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. Amin is the co-founder and director of FJORD Gallery and serves as an Assistant Professor of Art at Moravian University in Bethlehem, PA.
