Alicia Miño

I was born in Santiago Chile and began to study drawing and painting at the age of 13. The urban escapes and the dynamic people’s life were essential in the development of a socially oriented consciousness that influenced and guided my artistic path. I studied in my country; Metropolitan University of Chile and received my Master’s in Visual Communication. I moved to Italy where I had the opportunity to study art history and oil painting. While in Italy, I participated in various important art events and solo exhibitions. These experiences improved my pictorial technique and gave me a deeper understanding of the positive impact that art has had on our society. While in Philadelphia I became a member of the 3rd Street Gallery. For the past nine years, I had the opportunity to hold solo and group shows along with many other local artists. In 2017, I had the honor to participate in the important “Capturing Realism Biennale” held in Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania. Currently, I’m working for The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, developing art projects for the communities of North Philadelphia, and Barnes Foundation’s Community Engagment Program.
