Fleisher From a Distance: Anatomy Drawing Continued

Back by popular demand, Al Gury will continue his anatomy drawing demonstration and dive deeper into the structure of the human figure. In this event, Al will focus on drawing arms and hands, legs and feet, as well as how to draw the figure in foreshortening.

Al is the chair of the painting department of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, awarded the National Medal of Arts for Distinguished Service to the Arts in America, the only art school to be so honored. He received his BA in fine arts and humanities from Saint Louis University, a certificate of art from PAFA, and an MFA from the University of Delaware. He is a recipient of PAFA’s Cresson Traveling Fellowship. He is represented by F.A.N. Gallery in Philadelphia.

Al writes for American Artists and has published two books: Alla Prima: A Contemporary Guide to Traditional Direct Painting and Color for Painters: a Guide to Traditions and Practice. He has a forthcoming book on drawing.
