Valeria Kremser
Valeria Kremser is a book conservation technician, artist, and educator, born and raised in Philadelphia.
She currently works in the conservation studio at the University of Pennsylvania, in the Rare Book and Manuscripts Library. At her previous position at the Conservation Center for Art and Historic artifacts, she worked on many exciting projects including the notebooks of Bruce Springsteen and the library of Frederick Douglas. She has also worked in conservation at The Gladys Brooks Book and Paper Conservation Lab of the New York Academy of Medicine and the Conservation Department at the American Philosophical Society.
In her free time, she makes handmade paper, paper-based jewelry, miniature books, and prints about animals. She is also on the boards of the Philadelphia Center for the Book and the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers.
She has taught workshops on papermaking, bookbinding, and a variety of paper-based crafts to both adults and children.
