Diálogo 365: New Rhizomes – Opening Reception
Join us for the opening reception of Diálogo 365: New Rhizomes on Friday, August 12 at 6pm.
About Diálogo 365: New Rhizomes
Inspired by the 360 Cultural Lab mission and taking stock of the massive exodus from Venezuela in the last decade, Diálogo 365: New Rhizomes takes the concept of placemaking as a departure point. We are asking artists to unpack the interpretations and possibilities of placemaking in our current state of uncertainty. In what ways do we strengthen or sabotage our sense of place? How are we rethinking what it means to connect to one another? How do we fortify our stems to build more equity as inbetweeners? Diálogo 365: New Rhizomes seeks a variety of visual perspectives from emerging and established artists of Latin American and Caribbean heritage.
The exhibition is on view from August 12 – September 9, 2022 and is co-curated by Diálogo 365 founder Andreina Castillo and Gerard Silva, Director of Exhibitions and Community Outreach at Fleisher. 360 Culture Lab has been supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
