Workshop: Machine Sewing: Witch & Wizard Hats

In this fun 2-session workshop participants will create their own custom witch or wizard hat on the sewing machine, just in time for Halloween! Along the way students will build foundational garment-sewing skills such as following a pattern, sewing seams, and stitching curved shapes. Perfect for adventurous beginners and anyone looking for a creative new machine sewing project.

Participants should have taken Machine Sewing at Fleisher, or have some machine sewing experience. Please contact adulteducation@fleisher.org with questions.

What You Will Learn:
– How to follow and assemble a sewing pattern
– Sewing curved seams and structured shapes
– Basic sewing techniques used in garment construction
– How to attach bias tape
– How to attach fusible interfacing to create shape and stability
– How to trip clip and turn curved edges
